Oakland Avenue Parking Deck Addition

Project Description:
500
parking space, 5 level addition to an existing 1000 parking
space parking deck on the campus of the University of North
Carolina Greensboro. The new addition was designed to utilize
the existing stairs and elevators located in the existing
parking deck. The exterior materials of the new addition include
brick masonry and precast concrete panels to match the existing
structure. The new addition includes a small information/retail
space to serve occupants of the parking deck and new vehicular
entrance and egress routes to Oakland Avenue on the south side
of the site. The deck was designed to accommodate a possible
future pedestrian bridge across Oakland Avenue to link the deck
to future campus development to the south along Lee Street.
Wright Architecture PA served as Designer for the new addition
to the existing structure. Sutton-Kennerly & Associates served
as the Engineer of Record and prime consultant.
